International Programs and Partnerships

An International Dimension

Given its geographical location, the researchers and engineers at CR SANTEC have professional experience that crosses boarders. Some examples include:

  • The IMC Project - in addition to partnering with other research centres in Luxembourg, our project team works closely with the Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen) in the USA.
  • The MENSSANA and LUHF projects have strengthened our partnerships in Germany. Specifically with the Heart and Diabetes Center North Rhine-Westphalia and the Medical University of Cologne.
  • Partnerships in France include our work with the University of Nancy, specifically in the development of health care economics and IT.

CR SANTEC is always looking to expand its network and find new universities and RTOs for collaborative programs. Please see the Partners section of our web site to see a list of all commercial and public enterprises that we currently work with.

Access to Pan European Programs that Support and Fund R&D Activities

To further its involvement in European level R&D programs, CRP Henri Tudor actively participates in various European funded programmes. In 2009, a total of 34 projects were carried out under European programmes - specifically FP7, FP6, European Space Agency, Eureka ITEA, Leonardo, FEDER INTERREG and FSE Objective 2 and Objective 3.

Luxembourg Funding for R&D

The Fonds National de la Recherche Luxembourg (FNR) is a national agency that provides different funding instruments that directly support R&D in Luxembourg. The CRP Henri Tudor and CR SANTEC, its health care informatics department, have worked with the support of the FNR to create innovative and valuable R&D projects. In addition to supporting scientific conferences, the coordination of national/international research programs, grants to assist PhD students in Luxembourg, the FNR also participates in a number of international funding schemes. www.fnr.lu

On June 5th 2009 the Luxembourg government passed new legislation that provides additional funding and support for research, development and innovation. Please see the following link to learn more about resources that can help SMEs. www.innovation.public.lu
