DICOM TOOLS

The Tudor DICOM Tools are a Java library to perform high-level DICOM operations. It is based on dcm4che version 2, the Java Advanced Imaging API (JAI) and ImageJ. The library includes stand-alone applications as well as ImageJ plugins. It can be used as a library in own custom applications as well. It offers functionality to read and write DICOM files from a disc or a DICOMDIR file-set (e.g. DICOM CD), work with the DICOM header, anonymize images and send, receive or query images from a Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) via network. The following DICOM network services are provided by the tools: C-ECHO-SCU/SCP, STORAGE-SCP, QUERY/RETRIEVE-SCU. Additionally it offers components to view DICOM images with features like windowing, zooming, shifting, measuring etc.. . Most of the included functionalities can be used in ImageJ macros. You can explore how to use them by using the macro recorder of ImageJ. For more information please click HERE.

DoseDeo

Working in partnership with the Luxembourg Ministry of Health (Department of Radio-protection) and the hospitals of Luxembourg, this multi-year project focuses on the automated collection and analysis of patient dose values for Computed Tomography (CT) scans. After each annual review, the results of the survey are examined by the project stakeholders and recommendations are made to optimize existing CT protocols. For more information please click HERE.

EPI-CT

The European FP7 project EPI-CT “Epidemiological study to quantify risks for paediatric computerized tomography and to optimise doses” estimates the risk for the paediatric patient to cancer. Under the leadership of the IARC, Lyon, the project will establish not only an international cohort, but will as well work on the biological aspects and optimsiation of radiation use in children. Our team contriubutes to the work packages data collection, dosimetry and optimisation. For more information please click HERE.

eSante

The Luxembourg government has adopted a national ehealth plan which recommends the creation of a networked platform supporting different applications for the exchanging and sharing of health related data. eSante is a R&D program which will support multiple projects; the first two involving the transmission of radiology reports and images and the improved exchange of laboratory analysis results. eSante framework will utilize a patient anonomysiation infrastructure which will be designed to insure patient data protection. Please click HERE to learn more about the project and its deliverables.

GECAMed - Gestion des Cabinets Medicaux

GECAMed is an open source software solution for the managing medical office data. Developed in close collaboration with local physicians, GECAMed delivers a multi-user application with customizable profiles (Physician, Secretary, Administrator) combined with a multi-lingual user interface. The GECAMed project's goal is to provide physicians with a flexable, easy to support free software for their medical office needs. Please click HERE for more information.

InnoMI

This project is an innovative competence creation project that will gather recent scientific advances and activities – centered in the field of medical imaging – into one common project. The main objective of this approach is an coherent organization and enhancement of our imaging activities in order to build up knowledge, competences and thereby develop solutions that will be used for: fostering our collaboration network in medical imaging, identifying and participating in National & European research project calls (FNR Core, InterReq, EC FP 7), and proposing innovative solutions and research projects based on newly acquired competences and developed tools.

Optimage

The goal of the Optimage project is the development of automated image processing functions to facilitate constancy control in radiology. This project has lead to the creation of Optimage, an open source software software system designed to assess the image quality of predefined radiology modalities as easily and as quickly as possible. Working in partnership with the Entente des Hôpitaux Luxembourgeois (EHL) and the Luxembourg Ministère de la Santé, this project has successfully tested this software and is currently under review for extened use in Luxembourg's hospitals. EHR QTN

EHR-QTN is a Thematic Network project that prepares the health community across Europe for systematic and comparable quality assurance and certification of e-Health products, more specifically of the Electronic Healthcare Record systems. The project fits with objective 1.6 of the 2nd Call for Proposals for the CIP-ICT PSP program: “Improving certification of eHealth products”, more specifically where the work program refers to the “good practice requirements as elaborated by EuroRec”. CoCoMo

Project 'CoCoMo' investigates the process of collaborative production of economic goods ('Open Source', 'Open Content') ranging from low level services to high quality products and covering a broad spectrum of economic needs. The primary interest lies in identifying and measuring the conditions, constraints and gains of human resource mobilization, allocation and coordination within online communities bound by a shared interest to produce a solution to a common problem. Academic research has produced interesting explanations for the emergence of sustained cooperation, resource allocation, social exchange and network formation, but only a few models took into account the explicit role of project artifacts in structuring the many dimensions of a collaboration process and mitigating the free-rider problem. Structure and function of project artifacts are conditioning and constraining collaborative production in significant ways, affecting individual allocation decisions, exchange opportunities, efficiency gains and collective organization. This results in two main objectives for the investigation of the relationship between system structure (the artifact) and social structure (the community): 1) Empirical investigation of measures to assess qualitative properties of this relationship. 2) Theoretical investigation of hypothesized feed-back loops between both structures.
